Global Servants Earns The Coveted 4-Star Rating From Charity Navigator

Global Servants

Global Servants’ strong financial health, integrity, and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it the coveted 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator.

This recognition reflects our dedication to using every gift wisely to make a lasting impact around the world.

This is the first time that Global Servants has earned this top distinction.

Since 2002, using objective analysis, Charity Navigator has awarded only the most fiscally responsible organizations a 4-star rating. In 2011, Charity Navigator added 17 metrics, focused on governance and ethical practices as well as measures of openness, to its ratings methodology. These Accountability & Transparency metrics, which account for 50 percent of a charity’s overall rating, reveal which charities operate in accordance with industry best practices and whether they are open with their donors and stakeholders. On June 1, 2016, we upgraded our methodology for rating each charity’s’ financial health with CN 2.1. These enhancements further substantiates the financial health of our four star charities.

“Global Servant’s exceptional 4-star rating sets it apart from its peers and demonstrates its trustworthiness to the public,” according to Michael Thatcher, President & CEO of Charity Navigator. “Only a quarter of charities rated by Charity Navigator receive the distinction of our 4-star rating. This adds Global Servants to a preeminent group of charities working to overcome our world’s most pressing challenges. Based on its 4-star rating, people can trust that their donations are going to a financially responsible and ethical charity when they decide to support Global Servants.”

“It’s important our donors trust that we’re using their donations wisely to accomplish our mission,” said President Travis Rutland. “Our 4-star Charity Navigator rating demonstrates to our supporters our good governance and financial accountability.”

About Global Servants

For more than 40 years, Global Servants has answered the call and gone into the world to share the love of God.  Global Servants was founded in 1977 by Dr. Mark Rutland for the purpose of seeing lives changed through the power of God’s Word. Dr. Mark Rutland’s first trip to Ghana in 1981 began a ministry in West Africa that has had a lasting impact on the people. Global Servants has met the needs of West Africa through evangelism, building churches, education, digging wells, building sanitation stations, and investing in the infrastructure of West Africa. In 1988, Global Servants opened House of Grace in Thailand, a rescue home for girls in danger of being bought and sold into prostitution.

Global Servants has reached countless people worldwide through crusades, seminars, camps, books, media, local evangelism projects, church planting, and leadership training. Over the last four decades, Global Servants has grown into a worldwide missions and evangelism organization with ongoing work in Thailand and Ghana.

For Global Servants, this month reflects a mission we live out day-by-day all year—protecting vulnerable girls before exploitation ever occurs. A Global Crisis Rooted in Vulnerability Human trafficking thrives where vulnerability exists. Poverty, lack of education, family instability, displacement, and crisis situations all create conditions where girls are placed at greater risk. Globally, an estimated 27.6 million people are subjected to trafficking today, many of them children. Trafficking does not begin with exploitation—it begins with exposure. When children lack safe environments, consistent care, and access to education, traffickers find opportunity. That is why prevention is so critical. House of Grace: Protection Before Harm The House of Grace addresses vulnerability at its roots. Through Houses of Grace in West Africa and Southeast Asia, Global Servants provides safe, stable, and nurturing homes for girls who face significant risk due to circumstances beyond their control. These homes are built on the belief that protection, education, and love are powerful tools of prevention. At House of Grace, girls are: Surrounded by consistent, caring adults Given access to education and life-shaping opportunities Provided a secure and supportive environment Encouraged to discover their God-given value and purpose By removing vulnerability, House of Grace helps close the door before exploitation ever has the chance to enter. Prevention Through Presence Preventing human trafficking requires more than awareness—it requires long-term presence. Global Servants works alongside local churches, educators, caregivers, and community leaders to strengthen families and build protective environments for children. By addressing root causes such as poverty and lack of access to education, we help communities create lasting solutions that protect girls and change futures. Why Awareness Still Matters Despite global efforts and increased legislation, traffickers continue to adapt. National Human Trafficking Prevention Month reminds us that everyone has a role to play—from learning the warning signs to supporting prevention-focused ministries and praying for vulnerable children around the world. With Grateful Hearts This prevention-focused work is only possible because of faithful partners who believe protection is better than intervention after harm. Because of your generosity, girls are growing up in safe environments where hope is nurtured, education is prioritized, and dignity is protected. You are helping transform vulnerability into opportunity—and fear into hope. Prevention changes outcomes. Protection preserves futures. And hope begins with care. Thank you for partnering with Global Servants and House of Grace to provide a safe home for our girls.

For families in Tebeso, access to clean water has always been a challenge. Children often walked long distances to collect water that was unsafe for drinking, leading to sickness, missed school, and daily hardship. But on this visit, everything changed. As the drilling rig broke through the final layer of earth and fresh water burst upward, the village erupted with joy. Children ran toward the well site, dancing and cheering. Mothers breathed sighs of relief. Pastors and local leaders expressed heartfelt thanks. Ronny and Steve saw firsthand how much the new well meant to the families of Tebeso.
