Clean Water for Tebeso: A New Well and a New Beginning

A New Well and a New Beginning

Global Servants Executive Director Ronny Brannen and Director of Development Steve Birmingham traveled to the village of Tebeso, a community of 42,000 people located two hours south of Kumasi, to witness something extraordinary—clean, safe water flowing in a community with limited access to it.

For families in Tebeso, access to clean water has always been a challenge. Children often walked long distances to collect water that was unsafe for drinking, leading to sickness, missed school, and daily hardship. But on this visit, everything changed.

As the drilling rig broke through the final layer of earth and fresh water burst upward, the village erupted with joy. Children ran toward the well site, dancing and cheering. Mothers breathed sighs of relief. Pastors and local leaders expressed heartfelt thanks. Ronny and Steve saw firsthand how much the new well meant to the families of Tebeso.

It was a beautiful moment

I’ll never forget.

“One of the most unforgettable moments came from a grandmother in the village. She had been sitting at the well site for more than ten hours, waiting and praying for that first moment when water would break through. When the spigot was finally connected and clean water began to flow, she rushed forward, filled a bottle, and immediately started joyfully splashing everyone around her. She completely soaked me—but I didn’t mind one bit. Watching her celebrate was incredibly moving. I imagine she has lived her whole life in this village—raising her children here, and now her grandchildren—enduring the daily struggle of walking miles for a bucket of unsafe water. To finally see clean, safe water flowing right in her own community… she had every reason to be excited. It was a beautiful moment I’ll never forget.”

Why This Well Matters

A single well does more than supply water. It brings:

  • Health – reducing waterborne illness
  • Education – improving school attendance
  • Opportunity – freeing families from hours of daily water collection
  • Hope – showing a community they have not been forgotten

The new well in Tebeso will serve as a lifeline for the entire village, transforming daily life and opening doors for ministry, education, and long-term development.

But Tebeso is only one village. Across Ghana, thousands of families still wait.

This Giving Tuesday, Help Us Bring Clean Water to More Villages

This year, Global Servants is dedicating part of our Giving Tuesday campaign efforts to expanding our reach through the Clean Water Initiative. Our goal is simple: Bring clean, safe drinking water to more villages across Ghana.

Your Giving Tuesday gift will help fund:

1. New Clean Water Wells in Rural Villages

Each well serves an entire community—hundreds of men, women, and children who currently rely on unsafe water sources.

2. Water Filters for Families and Schools

Not every location has the capacity for a deep well. In those areas, high-quality water filters become a vital tool for safe drinking water. With your support, we can provide filters to families, classrooms, and churches that need them most.

Every Gift Changes Lives

The well in Tebeso was made possible because people like you believed in the mission of Global Servants. Your generosity brought clean water to a village that had prayed for it for years. On Giving Tuesday, we invite you to do it again.

  • Imagine giving a child their first drink of safe water.
  • Imagine lifting the burden off mothers who struggle every day to find water.
  • Imagine transforming entire communities through health, hope, and the love of Christ.
  • This is the impact you make when you give.

A Note from Travis Rutland

Stories like this remind us why the Clean Water Initiative is so important. When we build a well or provide a water filter, we are showing the love of Christ in one of the most practical ways possible. We’re saying to villages like Tebeso: ‘We see you, we care about you, and you are not forgotten.'

As we approach Giving Tuesday, I want to thank every supporter who makes moments like this grandmother’s celebration possible. Your generosity is transforming lives in Ghana and opening doors for ministry in ways we could never accomplish alone

Sometimes, the impact of a mission is suddenly clear—years of prayer and faithful support coming together in a powerful outcome. Today, we celebrate one of those moments. Four young women from House of Grace-Ghana— Esther, Martha, Paulina, and Zuwera —have officially matriculated, stepping into a new season as university students. This is more than an academic milestone. It is the fulfillment of hope, the fruit of perseverance, and a powerful testimony of what God can do through faithful partnership.

The sound of construction is beginning to fade. Where there was once a construction site—filled with tools, materials, and long days of labor—there now stands something beautiful. The new dormitory at House of Grace-Thailand is nearly complete, and with every final detail, a quiet sense of anticipation is growing. Soon, this building will be filled with life. Not just activity—but purpose. Not just movement—but transformation. Because this dorm is not simply a structure. It is a place where girls will find hope.
